Hello City Terrace Families!
Hope you all had a very Happy Halloween with more treats than tricks! The kids all looked great with their Halloween costumes. As always, I am amazed by the creativity of our CT students!!

Funniest: 1st Place - Dario Perez, Rm 24. 2nd Place - Antonio Diaz, Rm 2. 3rd Place - Andrea Lopez, Rm 4.
Scariest: 1st Place - Christian Andrade, Rm 26/27. 2nd Place - Brandon Duran, Rm 25. 3rd Place - Ashley Valencia, Rm 2.
Most Creative: 1st Place - Lily Andrade, Rm 22. 2nd Place - Sky Budris, Rm 22. 3rd Place - Kaylee Marshall, Rm 25/26.
And thank you to our judges:
Ms. Rodriguez, Ms. Roberts and Mr. Aguilar! We will post pictures of the winning pumpkins on our PTA display board in the hallway by the library so please come by and check it out!
We are preparing for our Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. We are collecting canned goods and dry food items- rice, beans, pasta, stuffing, etc for 4 deserving City Terrace families. The turkeys will be generously donated by the Garfield Family (Jay, Maychelle, and Kailia- 1st grader…..THANK YOU!!).
As the holidays approach and the semester is winding to an end, I want to take the time to thank all the wonderful teachers and staff at City Terrace! We appreciate the dedication and attention you give to our children everyday!
Please come and join us for our next General PTA Meeting on Wed, 11/13 at 2:15pm. Refreshments will be served. Guest speakers scheduled are Mr. Boull’t from LAUSD to discuss the upcoming Breakfast-In-Classroom initiative and new Parent Communications; and a PTA District representative will speak regarding the Reflections Art Competition. Everyone is welcome!

Hola familia de City Terrace!
Espero que todos hayan tenido un Halloween muy feliz con más dulces que trucos! Los niños todos se veían muy bien con sus disfraces de Halloween. Como siempre, estoy sorprendida con la creatividad de nuestros estudiantes en CT!

Vamos a publicar las fotos de las calabazas ganadoras en nuestro tablón de anuncios de la PTA en el pasillo cerca de la biblioteca así que por favor venga y échele un vistazo!
Nos estamos preparando para nuestra Colección Anual de Comida para Acción de Gracias. Estamos recolectando comida enlatada y comida seca - arroz, frijoles, pasta, etc. para 4 familias merecedoras de City Terrace. Los pavos serán generosamente donados por la familia Garfield (Jay , Maychelle y Kailia - 1er grado ..... GRACIAS!) .
Como las vacaciones se acercan y el semestre está llegando a su fin, quiero tomar el tiempo para agradecer a todos los maravilloso(a)s maestro(a)s y el personal de City Terrace! Agradecemos la dedicación y atención que dan a nuestros niños todos los días!
Por favor venga y únase a nosotros en nuestra próxima reunión general del PTA el Miércoles, 13 de Noviembre a las 2:15 pm. Se servirán refrescos. Los invitados programados son el Sr. Boull't del LAUSD que hablara sobre la iniciativa de Desayuno en las Aulas y la nueva Comunicación de Padres; y un representante del distrito de PTA hablara sobre el Concurso de Arte Reflections. Todos estan bienvenidos!

October Newsletter 2013
Dear Fellow Parents,
Thank you to those of you who attended our first General PTA Meeting on 9/25! We really appreciate your support and interest in helping PTA and City Terrace!! Congrats to the lucky winners of the opportunity drawing! The prizes of the hardback Harry Potter books were generously donated by Ms. Fujiu. Please join us again for our next meeting on Nov. 13, 2013 at 2:15pm!!
Congratulations to the winning classes of the membership drive! We served up a lot of pizza and juices to hungry kids today! Special thanks to Dara Gelof and family for donating funds for the pizza!!! We are now 120+ members strong....please join us today if you haven't already! Everyone in your family can join at $6/ per person for annual membership. This supports PTA scholarships and community services. Your membership includes many discounts and perks as well!!
We are proud to report that our first Free Movie, Epic was the most successful in concession sales that PTA has had to date!!! Proceeds paid for the Teacher Wish List of supplies that we bought and distributed and the rest will go into funds for technology for our school!!
Our next Free Movie will be on Friday, 10/11/13 and we will be showing The Croods. Concession donations (water, juices, individual snacks) and helping hands at the event is appreciated and welcome!! We need your support!!

Estimados Padres,
Gracias a todos los que asistieron a la primera reunión general del PTA el 25 de Septiembre. ¡Realmente apreciamos su apoyo e interés en ayudar a la PTA y la Ciudad de Terrace! ¡Felicidades a los afortunados ganadores del sorteo! Los premios de libros de Harry Potter fueron generosamente donados por la directora Ms. Fujiu. Por favor únase a nosotros de nuevo para nuestra próxima reunión el 13 de Noviembre de 2013 a las 2:15pm.
Felicidades a las clases ganadoras de la campaña de membrecía. Servimos una gran cantidad de pizzas y jugos para los niños hambrientos. ¡ Un agradecimiento especial a Dara Gelof y familia por la donación de fondos para la pizza! Ahora somos fuertes con más de 120 miembros .... por favor, ¡únase a nosotros hoy si aun no lo ha hecho! Todos en su familia puede participar con $ 6/por persona para la membrecía anual. Esto apoya becas patrocinadas por PTA y también servicios comunitarios. ¡Su membresía incluye muchos descuentos y beneficios, también!
Estamos orgullosos de informar que nuestra primera película gratis, Epic, ¡fue el más exitoso en ventas de concesión que PTA ha tenido hasta la fecha! Los ingresos pagaron por las listas de suministros para los maestros que compramos y distribuimos y el resto va a entrar en los fondos para la tecnología para nuestra escuela.
Nuestra próxima película gratis será el Viernes, 10 de Noviembre y estaremos mostrando Los Croods . Bienvenidos y apreciados son donaciones de concesión (agua, juguitos, bocadillos individuales) y ayuda de manos para este evento. ¡ Necesitamos su apoyo!
